AAT bookkeeping qualifications

AAT bookkeeping qualifications

We offer three short bookkeeping qualifications, which each take just 6 to 12 weeks to complete. These qualifications provide training for a huge range of bookkeeping roles and are respected by employers worldwide.

Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping

This qualification offers an introduction to manual bookkeeping, providing your staff with essential skills in single-entry bookkeeping and a broad understanding of the role of a bookkeeper.

Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping

Designed to enhance bookkeeping skills and knowledge, your staff will learn fundamental skills such as transaction procedures and double-entry bookkeeping, increasing their financial confidence.

They will also cover some more complex procedures, including dealing with VAT, reconciliations and trial balances as well as an understanding of how tasks can be automated through the use of accounting software.

Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping

This qualification is ideal for staff looking to develop their understanding and knowledge of bookkeeping further. Covering advanced skills such as financial statements, principles and concepts of accounting and advanced bookkeeping. They will also gain an understanding of business issues around payroll and VAT within the context of the ethical issues a bookkeeper may encounter.

On completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping, they can apply for our bookkeeping membership and gain the designatory letters AATQB after their name.
