Apprenticeships
Why do apprenticeships make business sense?
A cost-effective way to hire or train staff
You could receive contributions towards training costs from the government and the recruitment process is typically less expensive.
Use your levy
If you’re in England and you’ve got a paybill of over £3 million, you’ll need to pay an apprenticeship levy of 0.5% of your wage bill. You’ll be entitled to claim back up to £6,000 for apprentices on the Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship (Level 2), and up to £8,000 for apprentices on the Assistant Accountant (Level 3) and Professional Accounting Technician (Level 4) apprenticeships, per apprentice to cover the cost of the training. Non-levy payers can claim up to £7,600 per apprentice to cover training costs.
Add value to your business, right away
Apprentices start working and contributing to your business from day one, alongside their training.
Gain skills you need
Apprenticeship Standards are designed by employers, so they equip people with the skills businesses actually need.
Increased productivity
Apprentices tend to be motivated, flexible and loyal to the company that has provided them with their apprenticeship opportunity, which leads them to be more productive.
